Although this wedding is a few years old, it remains a firm favourite and an absolute classic – which proves that when you as a couple do what reflects you, rather than what is trendy, it will remain stylish despite the passage of years.
It also proves that when you do your homework and select service providers that you trust and who get you, they will do a fantastic job and deliver on your brief and more.
This was the case with Julia and Chris – an American couple working and living in South Africa – who chose our beautiful shores to celebrate their union. They selected the picturesque Vrede en Lust in the Franschhoek valley. With many friends and family coming from overseas to celebrate with them, it certainly was a beautiful spot to show off our beautiful country.
They were just the most lovely couple to work with and after some detailed meetings, we felt very comfortable that we would deliver their vision, even a vision that is not well defined. And we loved the trust that they showed in us to make pretty for their day, assist with linen and furniture selections, fine glassware, underplates and suggestions/direction for the lighting.
We were extremely proud to have this wedding featured on Ruffled Blog, one of the world’s top wedding inspiration blogs. South Africa is a country that we are very proud citizens of and we know that we are blessed in the Western Cape with a plethora of talent, particularly in the wedding industry.
This wedding was produced when I was still one half of Green Goddess flower studio.
Julia and Chris had this to say about their experience after the wedding:
“My fiancée, Chris, and I were thrilled to work with Coral and Chantell for our wedding. They are so incredibly talented and we simply cannot speak highly enough of their great work. From our first meeting, I knew the Coral and Chantell were not just your average florists. They took the time to get to know us and to understand the look and feel that we were going for (which at that point was a handful of random style ideas and a color palette). We communicated about ideas via Pinterest, which was brilliant and so incredibly helpful. When my fiancée and I arrived at the mock up, we were floored by how beautifully and creatively they interpreted and executed our vision. We thought they couldn’t possibly out do the mock-up, then the day of the wedding arrived and, WOW they really, REALLY exceeded our expectations. The flowers were exquisite. My bouquet was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. All of the décor was stunning, creative and unique, with no small detail overlooked. A month on, we are still receiving compliments from guests!
As a bride, I found working with Coral to be a great experience. They helped me hire in some of the other décor items for our reception, and this was one of the best planning decisions I made. In addition to bringing together a beautiful and cohesive overall look, Coral and Chantell provided invaluable tips along the way, from reception layout to the fine details, they were able to tap into their many years of experience in the wedding industry to give great advice, as well as anticipate and proactively address potential issues. There were many other elements of the planning process that were stressful, but I never once worried about Coral and Chantell; they were so organized, prepared and thorough. I would highly recommend them.
