What a beautiful bride and sweet couple, Ilizna and James – they chose the exquisitely designed and decorated Villa Maison Noir high on the mountainside of Hout Bay, in Cape Town to become man and wife.

Ilizna had impeccable taste and provided a beautiful brief indeed – she was a beauty both outside and in and it was a wonderful experience working with her on this beautiful day. The venue provided an incredible backdrop for some dramatic but simple florals – simplicity is often deceiving in terms of its execution and the thought put into the selection of flowers and foliage, as well as containers becomes more important.

With her alabaster complexion, and incredible, stylish dress, her bouquet in all neutral flowers, included some home grown lunaria – which is a translucent seed pod that has a natural shine and just the most beautiful texture – together with garden roses, dahlias, grasses and anthuriums… it worked perfectly to complete her look.

Then more dramatic tropical foliages were brought in for her bridesmaids in the striking black dresses – contrast worked here for sure.
