Charissa and Teck were our second couple from Singapore to journey to South Africa to do a pre-wedding couple shoot. What a delight to meet this happy and charming couple.
And what a beautiful place to take a trip as a couple and to create some special memories prior to getting married. I may be totally biased, but Cape Town is surely one of the most picturesque cities in the world in which to travel, and capture memories.
They travelled with an incredible photographer Kai from Trouve – who is a magician with light – you need to have a look at their work, seriously.
Charissa wore not one, but two stunning dresses for her shoot. We got sneak peeks before they arrived so that we would know what dress the flowers we designed would accompany and we were super excited to see the dresses for real – they did not disappoint.
Charissa asked us to create a bouquet for her to use in the shoot and to please use something exotic in the bouquet – now to us little ol’ South Africans, orchids are pretty exotic as the Cape has a mediterranean climate, which is not known for tropical plants, even though we have some beauties from several local growers. So we used orchids in her bouquet together with some garden roses, dried grasses, foraged berries etc. Forgetting that orchids are the national flower of Singapore where they literally grow like weeds. When you visit tropical Asia, almost every home has several orchids growing in the palm trees in their gardens or forecourts.
Anyhow, this tickled Charissa and she really loved the flowers.
Thank you Charissa and Teck for asking us to make some pretty for your pretty special shoot – we loved meeting you all and wish you a wonderful future together.
Thanks to the lovely Kai for the incredible images.
