The hype is real… Bosjes Wedding Inspiration Shoot

The hype is real – it is the most incredible building I have seen recently (and having lived in 4 countries on 2 continents and visited most major European cities and many US, Asian and Austrialia one’s too), that is saying something.

When the folks at Pink Book Weddings reached out to us to collaborate on a styled shoot with them and they mentioned Bosjes, I was immediately, “where do I sign to say yes!” Who wouldn’t want to work at a venue that includes a chapel that has won amazing architectural awards.

The shoot was arranged by Caitlin – an Aleit Academy student who was interning at Pink Book and I think she did an incredible job.

There were so many incredible vendors involved in this shoot – some I had the privilege of working with for the first time. Including my friend and floral peer – Lorraine from Lols Functions – I hope she doesn’t mind me saying this, but she did an incredible job – she outdid herself and really pushed herself out her comfort zone on this shoot – and the results were incredible – it was fabulous having you collaborate on this with me Lorraine.

Whilst the concept and floral designs were mostly my idea, Lorraine was completely involved in the execution and engineering of the floral designs, some of which really needed us to think out the box on how to create them. And I think the results were co-hesive, modern, and just plain incredible.

I really felt that as we were working at a venue with an iconic building, that the floral designs should acknowledge this and as a result we designed flowers with several ‘curves’ in them as a nod to the chapel – the floral backdrop for the sweetheart table, one of the bridal bouquets, and the grooms buttonhole – all had hogarth curve aspects to them.

AND it was another chance to make more floral jewellery – which I love as a way to distinguish yourself as a bride from the ‘over-used’ ideas that we see again and again on social media. Fun and breathtaking results – I hope you agree?

Now, let the pictures do the rest of the talking…
