Whilst my studio is taking on very few weddings at present, keeping up with trends, as well as mechanics and techniques (the geeky stuff) is always high on my list. Especially as I explore teaching floral designers again.
And collaborating with some of the industry’s best creatives is always an experience filled with joy and blessing and fulfillment. So when the quiet season was beckoning, Lindsey, a wonderful, sincere and talented hair and make up artist from Makeup and Delight, and I chatted about a collaboration. We met in the early days of our businesses in Cape Town and worked together on both shoots and real weddings and events many times. Then fate separated our working paths for a while, but divine intervention brought us back together again. Between us, we brought on some of our favourite industry creatives to fulfill this ethereal vision that we had. Thank you Lindsey
my sincere thanks to the incredible Samantha from Samantha Clifton Photography – I’ve been blessed to have Sam behind the lense on many occasions and she showcases my florals in the most spectacular way. Sam’s team included the lovely and talented Bethwho captured video of all the day – evocative movement, light and shadows – thank you Beth. And my very own Ray, assisted Sam on the day and took some of the images as well – which were edited by Sam, but such a proud mom moment.
Lindsey encountered two gorgeous models, Bianca Kennedy and Chelsey Jagers, both represented by Image Management – these ladies rocked a freezing cold winter’s morning to turn up the heat for our collaboration. Thank you – without incredible models, a concept is just a concept.
Sam in turn put me onto the ‘wow’ designer – Anene from Ferreira Couture – Anene has dressed catwalks internationally as well as many a local beauty. These dresses brought some serious bling and sophistication to our day.
Of course, we needed a venue space that would do justice to all our visions – and the newly renovated Nantes Estate, outside Paarl and Wellington was the perfect location – with stunning bridal and groom suites, beautiful venue spaces and an enormous kitchen, as well as views to die for – it was a beautiful, light drenched spot. Thank you.
Of course, no beautiful event is complete without invitations for one’s guests – so the incredible Mel (previously of Fleur Design Studio) from Monsoon Creative Studio, designed some stunning sophisticated papery for us.
This post has to go out in pieces as there are just too many images to present all in one – so check out our latest work for more.
