If you have followed my work at all, you will know that I adore working with Debbie Lourens Photography – we have known each other quite a number of years now and many of the images you find on my website were taken by her – whilst her overall style has changed and her editing too over the years, what has not changed is her incredible eye for styling and composing a moment.
Lockdown has been hard on our industry and as we have all hustled and done what we can to survive the annihilation of our work and industry, we have also tried hard to keep our creative spirits high by doing a little collaboration. Debbie suggested that we do a creative shoot and have 2 photographers shoot the same subjects, partially to show how different creatives see a moment. So one of my other favourite photographers Lauren Pretorius captured more gorgeous images from this afternoon.
When creatives work well together, shoots just flow and this was a shoot that just flowed – the floral designs were delicate and a delight to create and just transformed from ideas in my head through my fingers into pieces that transformed into magic under the lenses of Debbie and Lauren.
The incredibly romantic dresses from Sadie Bosworth, one of Cape Town’s newest bridal designer after moving here from KZN, were perfection for the gentle and flowy concept we all had in mind.
Cecilia Fourie waved her GHD and brushes to create a soft, gentle look on one of the loveliest ladies, a photographer in her own right, who brought the concept to life.
And finally, the secret gardens of the beautiful farm and venue Langverwagt, provided the most magical backdrops to set off this beautiful work.
This post contains images from Lauren Pretorius, I will do a separate post for those from Debbie Lourens
enjoy!
